Since Covid, I’ve been nesting like crazy. Between living alone and the general stress of life, it’s been nice to have something to distract my time. I’ve had saved on my Pinterest a few cane Ikea hacks and felt it was finally time to put it into motion. It was actually a lot easier than I thought it would be so I’m excited to share the finally product and process.
What You’ll Need:
- Dresser of choosing | I’m using the Hemnes Dresser
- Paint | I’m using a sample of the Behr Black/grey paint
- Leather knobs
- Cane | I bought 6ft
- Trim
- Wood glue
- Staple gun
Let’s Get Down to Business
- Trim cane down so fit within the trim. I used scissors to trim mine
- Secure using a staple gun on the very corners. Alternatively, you can use a hot glue gun
- Trim down the trim molding you picked using a miter saw
- To secure the molding, apply wood glue to the back of the trim and place in correct spot. I used mostly weights to secure the spots so they stay firmly placed
- Let dry 12 hours
- Next up, pick your paint! I used a dark grey/black color
- Paint two coats and let dry. If you want to use a top coat you can, but I didn’t
- Ta Da!
